About the Irish Dance History: The Irish dance boom was caused by dance shows like Riverdance - The Show, Lord of the Dance, Gaelforce Dance and many other famous shows. The resulted was a tremendous increase in demand for Irish dance footwear and accessories. But let's make a trip to the history of Irish dancing: Irish dances come in several forms, which can broadly be divided into social dances and performance dances. Irish social dancing can be divided further into céilí and set dancing. Irish set and céilí dances are usually danced by couples arranged into formations (sets); frequently squares of four couples, but many other formations are found, also. Irish social dance is a living tradition, and variations in the way a particular dance is danced are found across the Irish dance community; in some places, dances are deliberately modified and new dances are choreographed. Zur Geschichte des Irischen Tanzes: Irish Dance ist eine Form des Tanzes, der allein oder in einer Gruppe getanzt werden kann und zudem sehr vielseitig. Das Irish Dancing ist insbesondere durch die berühmten Tanzshows wie Riverdance - The Show, Lord of the Dance, Gaelforce Dance und viele andere beinahe über Nacht weltweit bekannt geworden. Wahrscheinlich sollte die geschichtliche Einführung bei den Völkern der Kelten, beginnen. Es gibt nur vage Berichte über den Ursprung des Irish Dance, doch einige Belege sprechen dafür, dass zu ihren ersten Ausführenden die Druiden gehörten, die in religiösen Ritualen tanzten. Spuren ihrer Kreistänze überlebten in den heutigen Rund- oder Ringtänzen.
